Bogotá DC, October 23, 2022. This Sunday, the National Park in Bogotá was the center of breast cancer prevention.

Some 300 people, men and women of all ages, joined the Pink Dance-a-Thon (#BailatónRosa), promoted by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, the National Cancer Institute and the IDRD, with the purpose of raising awareness about the risks posed by this type of cancer.

One of the participants was Olga Lucía Díaz, who, to the rhythm of all the traditional country's sounds, noted that "it is important to do physical activity to prevent breast cancer."

Likewise, Daniel Jiménez, who attended with his daughter Martina in his arms, was one of the most active attendees during the day. His message to the public is: "Self-examination is essential because life is awesome and it's time to take care of yourself and focus on prevention and continue enjoying life."

He, with his daughter, also made it clear that breast cancer can affect women and men.

Lina Useche, for her part, pointed out that preventing breast cancer should be everyone's commitment, since "it will help us avoid deaths from the disease."

The Ministry of Health and Social Protection recalls that it is important to take these three recommendations into account, which are key when detecting this type of cancer: schedule a mammogram, get a medical examination, and perform a self-exam.
