Press Bulletin No. 141, 2018

- The control entity will determine which entities will leave the health system.

Villavicencio (Meta), September 29, 2018. The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Juan Pablo Uribe, insisted that Colombian health service providers have an obligation to provide quality care to their registered members because, otherwise, they will be evaluated by the Superintendence of Health, an entity that will determine their continuity in the health system.

"As President Ivan Duque said at the beginning of the workshop, we will enforce the performance evaluation of health providers (EPSs and IPSs) so that citizens know which deliver the best services, because they must exceed the expectations of their users" said the Minister.

He went further by announcing that the National Health Superintendence will exclude those who do not fully accomplish their role with their registered members in the Colombian health system. "The Superintendent of Health is conducting coordination meetings with the EPSs to determine their performance in terms of quality," he said.

On the other hand, Minister Uribe, in his speech at the 9th Construyendo País workshop, said that El Dorado hospital is being built and the responsibility for it to come to fruition depends on all the actors involved in it. "The Ministry commitment is to study the viability of projects like this one here in Meta, as well as Guamal, which is also a priority for us," he added.

Finally, in matters of public health, he called on the authorities of Meta to maintain vaccination coverage for the issue of migration, to give proper treatment to diseases such as dengue without lowering our guard, and reducing traffic incidents, especially those involving motorcyclists, to promote health and prevent disease among the inhabitants of the Llanos.
