Bogotá, December 3, 2020. In Prevention and Action, the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Fernando Ruiz, announced that a negative PCR test or a 14-day quarantine will not be required for travelers entering Colombia, despite the ruling handed down by a judge of the Bogotá circuit.

"For the people who are traveling to Colombia, we want to tell them that while this situation undergoes the entire legal process, they will be able to continue coming to Colombia without taking a PCR test and without having to be subjected to a mandatory 14-day quarantine," he said.

Ruiz noted that the orders issued by the judge put the Ministry of Health in a "condition of impossibility of compliance" with the ruling. He added that the order affects the health strategy to contain the epidemic in the country, which has been implemented throughout the year and that has been supported by a Conpes document and a series of decrees and resolutions completely structured by the health ministry. Therefore, he noted, this "limitation imposed on the health authority is compelling us to make this decision.
