Press Bulletin No. 123, 2018
- The functions are framed under Decree 4192, 2010 for ReTHUS automatic registration.
Bogotá, DC, September 14, 2018. The Ministry of Health and Social Protection informs that the Colombian Association of Dietitian Nutritionists accepted the delegation of public functions, under the framework of Law 1164, 2007 and Resolution 1726, 2018, effective this date.
These functions, as explained the Director of Healthcare Human Talent Development, Luis Carlos Ortiz, refer to the registration of nutritionists and dietitians into the National Registry of Healthcare Human Talent (ReTHUS); the issuance of the professional card as a single identification for professionals enrolled in the ReTHUS; and the delivery of temporary permits for foreign nutritionists and dietitians who come to the country on scientific missions or for the provision of health services of a humanitarian, social or research nature.
He recalled that for the professions and occupations of the health area that still do not have a delegate association, "the functions described above will continue with the procedures and rules in force, until they are assumed by a professional association that complies with the requirements of the law".
Director Ortiz stressed that, according to Decree 4192, 2010 compiled in Decree 780, 2016 (Single Regulatory Decree of the Health and Social Protection Sector), "the nutritionists and dietitians who have complied with the legal requirements in force to date continue to be valid and will be enrolled automatically in (ReTHUS)."
Additionally, nutritionists and dietitians who have not satisfied the corresponding requirements before September 14 this year "must file the application for ReTHUS enrollment and the issuance of the professional card as a single identification in the Colombian Association of Dietitian Nutritionists as of next September 14," he added.
