Bogotá (D.C.), February 27, 2017. Officials of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection accompanied doctors from the National Cancer Institute (INC – for the acronym in Spanish) in the implementation and prescription of medicines using the Mipres platform.
INC prescriptions through Mipres began on February 22 with very positive results by health professionals. Prescription times were very fast, approaching 2 minutes.
This result was achieved thanks to the rigorous work by the doctors who received talks and training on the scope of Resolution 3951, 2016 and the benefits for patients in terms of time with online prescription.
For Dr. Sebastián Alcalá, emergency medical coordinator of the Cancer Institute, the Mipres application is an improvement for patients. "We are sure that it is a very good option for patients, since it eliminates the scientific technical committees (CTC – for the acronym in Spanish) for the health promoting organizations (EPS – for the acronym in Spanish) and it is managed within the institution, since we doctors know what the patient needs, he said.
The Ministry highlights the commitment and the management of the National Cancer Institute in the process of implementing the Statutory Health Law (LES – for the acronym in Spanish).
