Simití (Bolívar), May 9, 2019. Human talent devoted to providing quality care is what users find at the San Antonio de Padua regional hospital, which was unveiled on Thursday, in Simití (south of Bolívar), by Juan Pablo Uribe, Minister of Health and Social Protection.
In this hospital, the Minister said, the Office of the Governor of Bolívar invested about 34 billion pesos in physical infrastructure and $ 4 billion in equipment.
"We visited the hospital and witnessed that it is a place that serves patients with quality. Its wide corridors, furnishing, outpatient services and lines of service are designed to serve patients with quality and respect," said Minister Uribe.
The hospital will provide secondary-care services for about 180,000 inhabitants of Simití and 8 other municipalities in southern Bolívar: Santa Rosa del Sur, Norosí, Arenal, Morales, Regidor, San Pablo, Cantagallo and Rio Viejo.
The Governor's Office deserves all the credit for the work, Juan Pablo Uribe remarked, in its efforts to bring more and better care to the people of the region. And the Ministry backs it with the commitment to support their determinations and to work articulately to continue improving the health of all.
The building has 27 hospital beds, 7 pediatric beds and 7 observation beds, in addition to 2 operating rooms, delivery and procedure rooms, and one fluvial and two terrestrial ambulances.
"It is something truly special when a hospital, starting from zero, has the best and most complete equipment, and therefore, its human talent can, from day one, serve with quality and safety. That is what we find today in Simití," said the Minister.
With the start of operation of the San Antonio de Padua, patients in the region will not have to travel to Aguachica (Cesar) or Barrancabermeja (Santander) for services. With it, the aim is to increase the offer of services so that the people of Simiti can improve their health.
Lastly, the Minister invited the community of southern Bolívar and hospital officials to safeguard it, so that it can better serve the people.
